Getting there and around

Getting to the beautiful Hunter Valley wine region is easy and once you're here there are plenty of transport options available to show you around! The closest airports to fly into are either Sydney (2 hours drive) or Newcastle (50 minute drive), with a range of options to get you from the Airport to the Crowne Plaza.

For more options head to the Crowne Plaza website.

Self-drive & car hire

While you're in wine country, why not experience all the region has to offer by hiring a car and driving to the conference? Grab some friends and car-pool and enjoy the easy drive which takes approximately 50 minutes from Newcastle Airport, and 2 hours from Sydney. Visit your arrival airport for suggestions on hire cars available.

Airport shuttle - from Newcastle

If you're arriving at Newcastle Airport, we recommend booking with Newcastle Hunter Express which will pick you up from the Airport and take you to the Crowne Plaza (please note this service stops at hotels along the way so be mindful when booking that this service can take around 2.5 hours).

Travelling by train

If you're planning to travel by train, the most convenient stations are at Maitland, Newcastle or Morisset. There are connecting buses from each of these stations which will take you to the Hunter Valley.

Taxis and rideshare

Please be aware that rideshare services such as Uber are in very limited supply in the Hunter Valley. Taxis service the local area making it easy for you to travel around the region, with maxi taxis and wheelchair accessible vehicles available on request.

Charter flights

Cessnock Airport is the closest airport to the heart of Hunter Valley, however is accessible only by private charter & helicopters. Blue Sky Airways offers charter services for groups of up to nine people from Sydney. Services are frequent from Friday to Monday unless there is additional demand.
